Guy Saffman
Graduate Trainee Financial Adviser
About
I graduated from the University of Southampton in June 2026 with an 2:1 in Law. I joined BPI in September 2026 as a Graduate Trainee Financial Adviser.
Day to day, I support our advisers and paraplanners through the whole advice process. That means undertaking pension and investment research, preparing draft suitability reports, putting together client review packs, handling new business and applications, and administering client accounts. A good deal of my role is making sure client files and records are accurate, compliant and up to date, which is less visible than the advice itself but just as important to getting it right.
I speak with clients regularly by telephone and email, help with any queries, and attend client meetings alongside the advisers. Alongside the role I’m working towards the CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. My legal background is a useful grounding in the areas where planning and law overlap and in the long term I want to build the kind of client relationships where people feel genuinely confident about their finances.
Outside of work
Outside of work I like to keep active, I play for a local football team in Beaconsfield and get to the gym most days. I’m also a Leeds United supporter and head up to watch them whenever I can.
The rest of my spare time is spent with friends and family, and with my dog and cat.
